A CMT firm verifies that the soil, concrete, aggregate, and asphalt going into a project meet the plans and specifications — through field tests during construction and laboratory tests on samples — and documents the results for the owner, engineer, and building official.
How much does construction materials testing cost?

What certifications do your technicians hold?
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Grade I for fresh concrete work, NICET Construction Materials Testing certifications (Soils, Concrete, Asphalt) for field and laboratory technicians, and ICC special inspector certifications for IBC Chapter 17 special inspection. Nuclear gauge operators are trained under the company radiation safety program.
What is the difference between materials testing and special inspection?
Materials testing measures the material — slump, air, strength, density, gradation — against the specification. Special inspection, required by IBC Section 1705, verifies that structural work such as reinforcing steel, formwork, anchor bolts, welding, and masonry matches the approved drawings, and is reported to the building official. One agency usually provides both, with the same technicians and laboratory.
