About the Position:

As a Construction Materials Field Professional, you play a vital role in safeguarding our clients’ most significant investments. Moreover, you collaborate closely with industry partners to proactively address construction-related challenges. Your responsibilities include conducting essential materials testing, observations, and inspections on projects that continuously shape and enhance our communities. These projects span a diverse range of sectors—from industrial developments such as Oil & Gas, LNG, and pipeline installations, to critical transportation infrastructure including roadways, bridges, and airports. In addition, you may be involved in large-scale commercial builds, renewable energy facilities like wind and solar farms, healthcare institutions, K-12 schools, universities, and beyond.

Furthermore, by utilizing CMT’s innovative technology, you will deliver high-quality, real-time documentation of results and observations, thereby keeping clients and industry partners consistently informed. This streamlined reporting process allows for the quick identification and resolution of deviations, which in turn saves valuable time and reduces costs. Throughout your role, your work may include both field and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, and asphalt, as well as field inspections of foundations, reinforcing steel, masonry, and structural steel—ensuring full compliance with project specifications while simultaneously enhancing safety and long-term durability.

General Responsibilities:

Conduct field and/or laboratory testing, observation, and inspection of construction materials, including soils, aggregates, concrete, asphalt, and steel. In addition, coordinate with project managers, engineering technicians, client representatives, contractor representatives, and other key stakeholders to ensure full compliance with project specifications and testing requirements. As part of your duties, transport material samples—along with proper documentation—to the laboratory for further analysis.

Meanwhile, record, compile, and submit all data and observations in both written and digital formats for daily transmittal to the CMT Project Manager. To ensure efficiency, maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and designated work areas. When needed, assist with scheduling and dispatching technicians to various project sites to maintain workflow continuity. Above all, always follow strict safety protocols to protect yourself and others on the job site.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with tasks and perform basic testing and observation duties under the close supervision of senior technicians or staff professionals.
  • Accurately document findings and results in a clear and organized manner.
  • Communicate data and observations to the Project Manager, reviewing accuracy before submission.
